Training should teach operators to slow down before tight turns, keep buckets or attachments low during travel, check behind and down before reversing, avoid high-speed spins, and stop the machine if someone enters the work area.
A strong training program does not need to be complicated. Start with the operator manual and attachment manual, review safety labels, identify the controls and emergency shutdown, and practice basic operation in an open, level area.
Identify controls, warning lights, hydraulic couplers, lift arms, tracks, attachment latch points, fluid fill points, and maintenance access areas.
Practice forward travel, reverse travel, smooth turning, stopping, raising and lowering loader arms, and bucket control in a controlled area.
